New Yorker Cleared of Rape After Victim Says She Lied

I found this article on fox news.com William McCaffrey was held for three years in jail after a accusation against him which he lead 3 other men into gang raping 22 year old woman named Biurny Peguero. William got a 20 year sentnce after the woman testified in court, stating that the event, "changed her life forever". Willaims defense lawyer Glenn A. Garber later persuaded prosecutors to use new technology to retest DNA samples from an apparent bite mark on Peguero's arm. The initial tests were inconclusive. The new ones showed the genetic material not only wasn't McCaffrey's but came from at least two women, apparently friends of Peguero's who fought with her. So after these tests she confessed to her priest and then to court and William was released with still a bail of 5000 dollars. Peguero, who now uses the name Biurny Gonzalez, pleaded guilty Monday to perjury. The 27-year-old faces up to seven years in prison at her sentencing, set for February.
I see a lot wrong with this of course but the social control comes from our culture. I know rape isn't good at all but the way our country and people have controlled it too where anyone can accuse someone of rape or any crime and be put in jail is ridiculous. She only made accusations because she wanted everyone to feel for her, and so it would make her feel better, but our society and culture has been the same forever, we blame others for our mistakes and we don't care about it. She made a huge mistake but our court system should have been better, plus the man still had to pay bail to get out. Poor guy is just under the courts control, our governments control and anyone who wishes to point the finger.
