Xavier Erpelding...Social Control

Now that we have finished the Innes book... Understanding Social Control. I feel that I have a lot more knowledge when it comes to doing exactly that, understanding social control. I now look at the world with an all seeing eye and take everything with a second glance and make sure things are as they seem and that I am not being controlled by some unseem force to act a certain way or to buy a certain product. It is very hard to not feel like everything that I do is controlled and in some way it is because I have grown up in a society where we are controlled at everturn so even if I make the decision to not buy the newest Axe shampoo just because the girls are hot in the commercial but instead buy the cheaper one that does the same thing, just without the girls. I am still being controlled because I am trying to save money which we are conditioned to do from a child, well if we are raised correctly because some people just throw their money away. But does that mean they have found a way around being controlled or are they being controlled by the rebel attitude who does the opposite of what they are suppose to do. Which is still a form of control, wow now that I think about it I am not sure I can think of a type of person who is not being controlled, but in a way is that wrong? is it wrong that we have been told what to do and how to act since we were able to walk? I think not. It has kept us safe from walking across the street and being hit by a car just because we were never told not too or even touching a hot stove, not because we have to touch it to learn it is hot but because our parents can just say it is hot and touching it will hurt we can believe them.
