Facebook may have led to beating of 12 yr old

Andrew Young

I found my article on CNN.com. The article states that a 12 year old boy was led to have been beaten up because of a Facebook post. It was in southern California, and police believe that the boy was attacked because people posted a Ginger Day" on Facebook, and that the attacks and beatings could have been two separate accounts. The boy was harassed by a gang of seventh and eight graders at A.E Wright middle school. Police say that this could all be because of TV shows like south park, only that the post was up on Facebook. The boy was not seriously hurt. I believe this shows social control of the people. The social networks we have now bring tons of people close together and can relay massages quickly. People also take what others are posting and talking about and seriously follow them, young children for one should not be on Myspace and Facebook, which by the way was originally meant for college students. Because of one person maybe being funny or serious, other people and children are being attacked and beaten for what they look like. This also shows that anybody can tamper with our social networks and put anything. Its nice to have that freedom, but we need to watch what we say.
