In this article it talks briefly about the man who shot the four police officers in Washington. I think this article shows social control and how it failed. I know that people have their issues with prisons and rehabilitation is the better way but in today's day and age we deal with prisons and there is a reason why this person should have served his entire sentence of 60 years in prison. He was not an individual that should have been let out of jail obviously. He was a person who committed more crimes once out of prison and he committed horrible crimes. He raped a child and murdered police officers. I believe that rehabilitation is a great thing and should be used more but we have social control and it failed by letting this person out of jail. We failed to keep him in jail and now a child is raped and four families have lost loved ones. He should have never been let out of jail.
